Abuja-based clergyman, Apostle Simeon Olaiya Oludoyi, founder of Recovery and Intercessory Ministry, has strongly condemned the recent surge in insecurity in Okunland, Kogi State, which led to the brutal murder of three police officers and vigilantes.

Apostle Oludoyi attributed the incident to the inactivity and docility of spiritual leaders, stating that they are “sleeping instead of taking charge spiritually”

According to Apostle Oludoyi, the insecurity plaguing Okunland is not a physical battle but a spiritual one, requiring spiritual solutions. He emphasized that the weapon of our warfare is not carnal, but rather prayer and unity among Christian leaders.

Apostle Oludoyi believes that if Christian leaders come together in unity and pray to God for 21 days, the insecurity will disappear.

Apostle Oludoyi, the champion of the Okun Fire Crusade team, which organized revivals in over 29 Okun communities 4 years ago, has called for collective prayer to address the insecurity challenge.

He predicted in 2022 that Okunland would be engulfed in insecurity, and sadly, his prophecy has come to pass. The cleric urged spiritual leaders to take the lead in mobilizing their followers to pray for the deliverance of Okunland from kidnappers and violent killers

Okunland has been experiencing heightened insecurity, with residents living in fear due to frequent attacks, kidnappings, and killings. The Okun Development Association (ODA) has been advocating for improved security measures and community-led initiatives to address the challenge. In March 2025, the association organized a security summit in Kabba, emphasizing the need for strategic joint-action approaches to tackle insecurity in the region.
