The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Durosinmi Meseko, has described the recent judicial restoration of suppressed legislative constituencies in Kogi State as a “landmark victory for democracy and grassroots representation.”

In a statement released to the press, Hon. Meseko lauded the judiciary for its courage and fairness, noting that the judgment has effectively ended years of political marginalization for the affected areas.

Hon. Meseko emphasized that the suppression of these constituencies had long deprived citizens of their rightful voice in the legislative process. He praised the courts for alleviating the suffering and under-representation that the people had endured over the years.

Commending the legal system for acting as the true last resort for the common man and correcting a long-standing historical wrong, he extended special congratulations to the people of the Kabba-Bunu constituency, noting that this restoration ensures their specific needs and voices will now be more effectively championed.

Highlighting that increased legislative seats will lead to better governance, more focused development, and a stronger democratic fabric within Kogi State.

Hon. Meseko was quick to credit the collaborative effort that led to this success. He expressed profound gratitude to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his unwavering support and for fostering a political environment where justice can thrive.

He thanked the community leaders, legal teams, and advocates who remained steadfast in the pursuit of this constitutional right.

“This is not just a win for the APC or specific districts; it is a win for the sanctity of our constitution. Proper representation is the bedrock of development.”, Hon. Durosinmi Meseko reiterated.

The restoration is expected to trigger a reorganization of legislative boundaries ahead of future elections, ensuring that the people of Kogi State enjoy a more equitable distribution of political influence. Hon. Meseko urged the affected communities to seize this opportunity to unite and work toward the collective progress of the state.
