The Publicity Secretary of APC in Ijumu Local Government of Kogi State, Comrade Gbenga Bright, last Saturday escaped assassination by whiskers.
Comrade Bright, who on Friday 30th Septemper night came to Kabba to attend a burial program, said he called Hon. Ahmed Yakson, the Special Assistant on Administration to Senator Dino Melaye to come and pick him from there, they moved to the venue of the burial ceremony in Okoro Gbede.
According to him, on Saturday evening, Comrade Gbenga and one of his brothers, Mr. Osameka, who is the APC ward secretary for Ayetoro 1, left Ayetoro for Okoro Gbede to greet friends and brothers who are son of the deceased.
On getting there, after exchanging pleasantries, move to Iyara around 6:50 pm.
Fortunately for him, he did not return in the car. The perpetrators who lay ambush at Araromi fired gun bullets at the seat where he was seated and wrecked serious damage on the car .
Comrade Gbenga said that there have been some threat of arrest, but as a law abiding citizen, have nothing to fear.
In his narration, he said “a friend told me last Sallah period that, he stumbled on a list of those to be arrested and somehow again, they cancelled his name from the list.
“The issue is quite clear that we were monitored from Naomi guest house, Okoro Gbede, where the deceased children lodged. The guys who fired the shots deliberately moved and positioned themselves at Araromi Gbede in other to cover their satanic mission by tactically not striking in Okoro Gbede” he said.
