The ancient city of Ankpa had a legendary ovation as the member representing Ankpa 2 constituency at the Kogi state house of assembly, Alhaji Alfa Momoh Rabiu commissioned projects across the his constituency, Enjema and Ojoku districts of Ankpa were he evenly executed projects across.
The highly epoch event which in addition to a reminder of the dividends of democracy been enjoyed by the constituents brought tears of joy out of Mr Yahaya, a loyal partyman and erstwhile supporter of Hon Rabiu upon been presented with a brand new Passat 2.0 car key and as expected for a man loved by both the masses and the elites, the day witnessed a very large turn out of prominent personalities from different spheres of life.
Among the very notable personalities were the speaker of Kogi state house of assembly and eighteen other members. The all important event had in attendance the member representing Ankpa federal constituency, Hon Hassan Omale, a former governorship aspirant, Prince Sani Shaibu, the state commissioner for trade, commerce and investment, Hon Senusi Unman Yahaya, serving administrator of Ankpa local government, Hon Mohammed Ibrahim and the state APC women leader, Hajiya Rabi.
The state legislators on solidarity were the speaker, Rt Hon Matthew Kolawole, Hon Ahmed Mohammed of Ankpa 1 constituency, Hon Moses Ododo of Dekina Biraidu constituency and Hon Bello Abdullahi Balogun of Ajaokuta. Also present were former speakers, Hon Momoh Jimoh Lawal and Hon Umar Imam of Okene2 and Lokoja 1 respectively.
Others were Hon Musa Omiata of Yagba East, Hon Haruna Idoko Musa Idah, Hon Pedro Obaro of Mopamuro constituency and Hon Friday Ali of Ofu. The Bassa counterpart, Hon Sunday Shugaba was also in attendance. The chief whip, Hon Victor Omofaiye of Ijumu state constituency was also present. All the way from Ibaji was Hon John Abah as Hon Zakari Osewu of KotoKarfi was present too.
The very colourful event which saw to the commissioning of a borehole projects at Enabo, Enagbede and Enjema as well as an open market shops also had in attendance, two former PDP zonal leader for Kogi east, Hon Ibrahim Ocheja and Hon Sediu Odoma. Alhaji Tijani Alfa, Hon and Hon Omale Jonathan Other dignitaries included religious and traditional rulers, past local government chairmen, serving state SAs’, SSAs’ and party executives from both the state and local government.
The benefiting communities all thanked the honorable for his accountability, diligence, sincerity of purpose and always putting the people’s interest first as they all assured him of their unalloyed support. On his own part, Hon Rabiu pointed out that all the projects were for the common good of the people pleading for the removal of restrictions and sectionalism in the utilities.
Highlight of the event was speech by the host, Hon Alh Alfa Momoh Rabiu and separate remarks from the dignitaries whose contributions were in two order, either testifying tot he goodness of the host or giving him automatic endorsements for second term. All in all, the most fascinating story and lesson for the day is that sincere hard work pays as it did for Mr Yahaya. Little or no wonder the honorable’s political popularity is growing by the day.
