In recent times, the people most particularly the youths of Ankpa II Constituency have been expressing growing support for the Supervisory Councillor on Works in Ankpa Local Government Council, Hon. Sumaila Attah Muhammad, encouraging him to aspire for the position of Member representing Ankpa II in the State Assembly come 2027.
The incumbent lawmaker appears to be doing his best in office. However, many constituents believe that he has not fully met their expectations. Some media comments from members of the constituency describe him as a Lagos-based representative who is rarely seen within the constituency.
On the other hand, Echoga whom many people are calling on to contest against the incumbent lawmaker hails from the same ward as the immediate past lawmaker who represented Ankpa II State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Rabiu Ishiaka Alfa, who also served as Deputy Speaker during his second tenure.

For many supporters, Echoga’s generous contributions to humanity, strong support for the party, community intervention programmes, human capacity development initiatives, numerous empowerment efforts, and leadership qualities make him a suitable candidate to be entrusted with the party’s ticket. His humble nature and consistent engagement with the local community have further strengthened the calls for him to step forward.
While the incumbent lawmaker has recorded achievements in some areas, a significant number of people in the constituency seem to be yearning for Echoga to take up the challenge despite the incumbent’s efforts.
This raises an important question: Will zoning determine the next course of action, or will the system entrust Echoga with the mandate to answer the call of the people who want him at the helm of power?
