The people of Ejinya and Okenyi communities of Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State has applauded the member representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives over his efforts at tacking erosion menace in the area.
The Federal lawmaker, who doubles as Chairman of the House Committee on Steel Development, facilitated the ongoing control of erosion and drainage at Ejinya-Efofe, Okenyi, through the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA).
While reacting to the project, the Councilor representing the area at the Ankpa Legislative Council, Hon. Mohammed Audu said that Rep. Halims’ facilitation of the project is an unsolicited fulfillment of his campaign promise, stressing that over time, politicians have always used the erosion menace for emotional blackmail during electioneering.
He further commended All Progressives Congress (APC) led governments at all levels for creating an enabling platform that has brought about addressing the age long natural disaster that have ravaged the community and its geographical borderlines.
It is worthy of note that Rep. Halims whose sway at the National Assembly is his first tenure have within a short while initiated and completed several projects including a borehole at Uboji, a neighboring community to the site of the ongoing control of erosion and drainages.
Also, the community through a social crusader, Hon. Jerry, said the release of funds by Buhari was a clear demonstration of his commitment to the execution of the project which had been a matter of serious concern to the entire community of Ejinya-Efofe and Okenyi.
He confirmed that the whole community were happy over the project the long awaited project vowing that they will reciprocate the gesture for Hon. Halims in future electioneering elections.
