The Chairman Kogi East Elders forum, an elder statesman and a political leader, Alhaji Ibrahim Linco Ocheje on Saturday amongst other political leaders accompanied the member representing Ankpa 1 state constituency, Honourable Ahmed Mohammed to Okenyi-Ankpa LGA for the inauguration of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Voters Progressive Forum.
Speaking at the colourful occasion, Alhaji Ibrahim Linco Ocheje while highlighting some of his achievements so far, urged him to do more for his people, as the people of Ankpa ward 2 have no doubt in his abilities.
He said, “what we need today is a leader who understands the politics and has the interest of the people at heart.”
The youths and women of the All Progressive Congress (APC) resident in Ankpa ward 2 gathered in support of Honourable Ahmed Mohammed. They chorused that they are proud to have him as a son and as a representative who has done well in providing dividends of democracy to his people.
He was also presented an award of encouragement, for flagging off the biggest water project tagged “Operation Water for all”, which most communities has benefited.
Responding separately to the addresses presented by the people of Ankpa ward 2, the Deputy Majority Leader thanked them for their support to his programmes and that of Kogi State government.
He commended them for living peacefully and charged them to sustain it as that was the only way to attract development to their areas. He urged them to work co-operatively with each other by also sensitising the people at their respective units. He also encourages them to get their voters cards as that will qualify them to vote in the forthcoming election. He however appealed to the people of the state to give the government their support, adding that it was only by so doing that the state would grow faster.
The president of APC Voters Progressive Forum Ankpa ward 2, Hon. Musa Usman in his remarks called on Hon. Ahmed Mohammed to re-contest.
In his words; “We the youths from this community have observed that our representative is determined to make our constituency (Ankpa 1) great and we are calling on him to contest in 2019 elections as we are solidly behind him, we are behind him because of the good work he is doing for Ankpa LGA. The water for all projects has so much helped people mostly in the rural communities, we urge you not to listen to detractors”.
Honorable Ahmed donated a vehicle and a motorbike to the association to enable them spread the message of goodwill and to mobilize more voters for the success of APC in the forthcoming election. He also promised to replicate in the remaining four wards in his constituency.
