Member representing Ankpa 1 in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Honourable Ahmed Mohammed, has introduced technology-enabled Constituents2Respresentative interactive platforms to foster good government and qualitative representation.
In a democratic society, governments (including legislatures) routinely consult, interact, and exchange views and information with the public, so that citizens can express their preferences and provide their support for decisions that affect their lives and livelihoods. An effective legislature represents its constituents, influences law and policy making, and acts as a constraint on executive power by exercising a degree of oversight.
Based on the merits, Ahmed Mohammed is introducing the “Chat with Ahmed Ahmed” platform.
The objective of this platform is to have views, suggestions, opinions, complains, advices, e.t.c of his constituents on the way to move the constituency, Ankpa 1, forward.
Dealing with elected representatives on an ongoing basis strengthens the relationship between its people and constituents and increases the possibility of legislators acting on their behalf.
