As a young political activist and passionate youths advocate from Ofu Local Government Area, Kogi East, I am calling on the Kogi State Government to urgently grant aid and full educational support to Comprehensive Secondary School, Okabo—a school that has served our community since its establishment in 2008.
For years, this school has been operating under harsh and inadequate conditions. The buildings are in need of repairs, learning materials are insufficient, and the environment is not conducive for academic excellence. Despite these challenges, the spirit of the students and teachers has remained strong—but their strength alone is not enough.
The government’s intervention is not just needed—it is overdue.
We are pleading that the state government grant immediate aid, including: Renovation of classrooms, provision of desks, chairs, and learning materials, employment of more qualified teachers, improvement of the school’s learning environment and support for academic and extracurricular development.
Your Excellency, these children deserve better. Okabo community deserves better. Ofu Local Government deserves a school that reflects the dignity of its people.
By granting aid to Comprehensive Secondary School Okabo, the government will be investing in the future of Kogi East—empowering the next generation of engineers, leaders, innovators, and nation-builders.
We are appealing with respect, urgency, and hope: Please grant the needed aid to Comprehensive Secondary School Okabo, Ofu LGA.
