Aminu Happy To End Goal Drought As Kogi Utd Wallops Adamawa 2-0

Okene-born Kogi United Football Club striker, Aminu Abdulkadir returned to scoring form as his two goals helped to secure a convincing 2-0 win against Adamawa United on Saturday in the Week 12 of the Nigeria National League, NNL in Lokoja.

A goal in each half of the encounter made Aminu to increase his tally to 6 this season which has helped Kogi United gather 18 points from 12 matches.

While describing the victory over the Yola-based team as reward for hard work by his team, Aminu noted that his dream was to help the Confluence State club achieve greatness this season.

“I’m happy to be back to scoring way for my team, it came at the right time as it gave us a victory. Thanks to my team mates for their support. All I want is to continue to play and do better for Kogi United to end season well.

Aminu’s coach, Fatai Osho who expressed satisfaction over his team’s dominant performance against Adamawa United described the former ABS FC player as the most disciplined and dedicated he has ever coached, just as he wished him well.

“This was a great performance for us, we dominated the game from inception as you can see, they (Adamawa utd) could not come near our defense. We could have scored more goals today, but that’s football. Yes, is a good one for Aminu to score today, he has been working hard for this club. Its been long he score for us. But he never loose his focus, he has been giving his support to the team, Its always good to have him on the pitch. He’s a very special player and I hope his talent will be recognized by the national team handlers”, said Osho.

Chairman of the Wada Boys, Abdul Adama commended his players for displaying disciplined attitude just as he promised his continuous support to make Kogi United a force to reckon with in Nigerian football.

Up next for Kogi United in the NNL is midweek encounter against Plateau United FC in Jos on Wednesday.
