The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kogi state chapter, has expressed deep sadness over the passing away of His Royal Majesty, the Attah of Igala, Dr. Micheal Idakwo Ameh Oboni II.
In a statement signed by the Deputy Publicity Secretary of PDP, Comrade Mohammed KB, the party commiserated with members of the royal family, the government and the good people of Kogi East senatorial district.
The party described the departed monarch as a remarkable ruler who dedicated his entire life to the betterment of the state, the good people of Igala land and the wellbeing of the tribes without discrimination as to their status, ethnicity or religious persuasion.
“He used his good office to bring peace and prosperity to the people of Kogi state. His Majesty devoted his life and worked tirelessly for the improvement of life of the common people.
“There is no doubt that his Majesty’s wisdom and devotion were an enduring source of strength and comfort for the people in the Kingdom,” the statement said.
