Kogi state Commissioner for Works and Housing, Abubakar Ohere has sent a condolence message to the Igala Kingdom over the death of the 27th Attah Igala, Dr. Michael Idakwo Ameh Oboni II.
In the condolence message made available to newsmen by his aide, Prince Adamu Ibrahim Alih, Ohere described Attah as a discipline and courageous patriot who led his people well.
He prayed God almighty to give his family, the Igala Kingdom and the state in general the fortitude to bear the loss.
“It is with profound grief and sadness that we received the news of the death of His Royal Majesty the Attah Igala.
“His Majesty, Attah Igala was a true patriot that steered the state and through wisdom and foresight. He has served and represented the entire State Council of Chiefs well and did his best extremely to the best of his ability when I was the commissioner in charge of the Chieftaincy affairs ministry.
“At this time of great pain and loss, the Government and people of Kogi State as well as myself, express our deepest condolences to the Government and people of Igala Kingdom. Our thoughts and prayers also go out to the immediate family of the Attah, and the entire State Council of Chiefs. May God grant them the fortitude to bear the loss,” he said.
