Alumni Association Visits Chairman of Council, Pledges Support for Unilorin’s Growth

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the University of Ilorin Alumni Association has pledged to support the university’s growth.

The was made known when the NEC, led by the National President, Prof Kilani Abdulrazaq Olubusuyi, paid a courtesy visit to the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, University of Ilorin, Surv. Abiodun Jacob Aluko, in Ilorin on Tuesday.

During the visit, the Chairman of Council expressed his appreciation for the Alumni Association’s gesture and acknowledged the importance of their partnership in the university’s development.

He congratulated the association for a successful election and assured of his readiness and availability to always wage-in should anyone feel aggrieved about the process that culminated in the election of a new executive, stating that the progress of the association can not be put on hold because of the ego of anyone who feels aggrieved. This he said is important to continue to protect the ego, image, and reputation of the University as the best and most sought after in Nigeria.

The Chairman appealed to the association to continue to patterns with the university and support the vision of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole SAN, saying, “you are the ambassadors of the university, and we will work together to make Unilorin the best in Nigeria, top 10 in Africa, and top 100 globally in line with the vision of the Vice Chancellor.”

He assured of his cooperation and told the association to feel free to discuss with him anytime, saying, “You have a friend in me.”

The National President assured the Chairman of the Alumni Association’s total cooperation with the management and council, stating, we are compelled to give back to the university that has made us what we are today and we shall give out best to continue to foster development and progress of our alma mater.

Mr. Aluko emphasized the importance of leveraging his political connections to drive the university’s growth, citing his experience as a council member in various institutions like Bayero University Kano, Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka, and University of Uyo, Uyo and promised to bring his experience and political connections to bear on the development of Unilorin.

The Chairman of Council of Past President, Prof Durosaro D.O. thanked the Pro-Chancellor for availability to receive the new exco even within a very notice.

The visit marked a significant step towards fostering a stronger partnership between the Alumni Association and the University Council, with a shared vision for the university’s growth and development.
