- Dignitaries emphasizes place of mosques in nation building.
The place of mosques in nation building, unity and in shaping the society to be a better place has been emphasized.
This was the summation of clerics and personality at the inauguration of the mosque built by
Alhaji Isiaka Suleiman Okutepa, at Egwubi, Ejule-Alla Ward, Ofu Local Government Area, Kogi State.
Speaking at the Commissioning of the Mosque, the donor, Alhaji Isiaka Suleiman Okutepa said the current challenges facing the nation in terms of moral decadence, corruption, disunity he pointed out can be solved with the teachings that will shape the society to be a better place.
Alhaji Isiaka Suleiman Okutepa, pointed out that the teaching of Islam as propagated in mosques, emphasizes justice, equity, compassion, and love for one another, said the values are the bedrock of a peaceful and progressive nation.
“In Nigeria, a country rich in diversity. Mosques serve as centers for interfaith dialogue and understanding. They teach us to respect other religion and cultures while holding firmly to our faith. This is the essence of peaceful coexistence”.
The investment in building mosques, Alhaji Isiaka mentioned, has the propensity to change the moral and spiritual fabric of the society.
He added that the need to create an environments where individuals can grow in righteousness and contribute positively to their families, communities, and the nation at large, Alh Isiaka maintained calls for the need to build more places of worship.
Alh. Isiaka urge said aside eternal reward, the legacy left behind in building a place of worship cannot be overemphasized, called on individuals, groups, and communities to prioritize the construction and maintenance of places of worship.
” Be it a mosque, church, or any other sanctuary, such effort contribute to the moral upliftment of society as well as building unity and peaceful coexistence”.
He called for unity of purpose in Kogi State and Nigeria at large, pointing out that unity remains the greatest strength, despite the ethnic, religious, and cultural differences.
Also speaking the First Daughter of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Chief Dr. Mujidat Folashade Tinubu-Ojo and the Representative of the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Hon Muhammed Alfa Nasiru as well as
His Royal Majesty, the Ejeh Ofu, HRH, Akwu Obaje, other Sheikhs and Imams, commended, Alh Isiaka for building the mosque, urge others well to do individuals to emulate his efforts in making the society a better place.
The various speakers described the mosque building as not only a landmark for the community, but also a testament to the collective commitment to the service of Allah and the upliftment of the community.
