The killing and shedding of innocent blood in Àñé Ìgàlà without remorse on daily basis is believed to be an arrangement to extinguish the entire communities in Igalaland by the people that decide who get what, when and how.
It is worrisome while we were still mourning the death of our people at Bassa Local Government that of Omala came up. As if that was not enough, the bitter incidence of Oganenigwu in Dekina LGA came up, barely seventy eight hours after same community that was earlier attacked in Omala became victim again in spite of the presence of various security men that supposed to protect curtail further occurrence. One has beginning to wonder if really the killers are truly herdsmen and if they are, what then is their motives?
With the above assertion, the theory of Conspiracy comes to mind. In my school days, Conspiracy theory is an explanation of an event or situation that invokes an unwarranted conspiracy, generally one involving an illegal or harmful act carried out by government or other powerful actors. Conspiracy theories often produce hypotheses that contradict the prevailing understanding of history or simple facts.
According to the political scientist Michael Barkun, conspiracy theories rely on the view that the universe is governed by design, and embody three principles:
Nothing happens by accident,
Nothing is as it seems, and
Everything is connected.
Another common feature is that conspiracy theories evolve to incorporate whatever evidence exists against them, so that they become, as Barkun writes, a closed system that is unfalsifiable, and therefore “a matter of faith rather than proof”.
If any of our illustrious sons and daughters is aware of this wicked and mischievous act perpetuated by those evil groups without remorse or you’re in position of authority that can help put an end to this malevolent situation in Igalaland, the wrath of God and our great ancestors that labour for our existence shall fight you, the spirit of Inikpi, Omodoko, Atabo Ijomi, Idoko Arebi, Akumabi, Ameh Oboni, Otulukpe and host of others shall ruin your tomorrow; misery, disappointment, failure is awaiting you. Karma is always a relentless force, whatsoever that one cultivated on the land that exactly shall the harvester harvest.
We might be weak, we might be powerless, we might not even have people to cry and run to but we are very optimistic that the victory of evil over good is temporary. If the scenario of Agulere and Umulere could be thing of the past we are hopeful that one day all this must pass away. If peace can be returned to Ijaw and Itsekiri land God Almighty that we worship shall return ours one day. Those who anchored and orchestrated these killings should always remember that he who destroyed the land shall be destroy one day.
Igalaland has become a bloodied land with the killing spree.
