Winners of the Unity Bank Plc Aim, Save and Win promo have emerged on Saturday with Mallam Isyaka Sule, from Ajaokuta branch, Kogi State, winning a star prize of a brand new Kia Rio car, 2014 model.
The Grand Finale of the bank’s promo which took place at Yar’adua Centre, Abuja, brought excitement to many customers of the bank who won various prizes such as motorbike, hero bicycle, washing machine, LED TV and cash worth millions of Naira.
The Star Prize winner, Mallam Sule, who was not at the venue of the draw, got the news via mobile phone call to him after the selection process.
Meanwhile, a deceased, Wachiko Mohammed of Gwagwalada branch emerged the winner of the motorbike at the draw. When the call was put to his phone line to inform him about the prize, his son picked and informed the gathering that the owner of the account has died.
Only two female account holders, Nasibatu Nasiru Umar and Mrs Mary Olowo, emerged winners out of the anxious crowd.
Zonal Coordinator of the promo, Aminu Baffa, said the promo has helped the bank to attract a lot of deposits from customers, especially those with savings accounts.
He said: “We were able to mobilise monies that we believed to be unbanked to the banking sector and with this kind of initiatives, the banking industry will be strengthened and we are so happy with the kind of support we are receiving from our customers throughout the country.”
He said for the 2013 promo, about 4 Kia Rio cars, 2014 Model, were distributed to customers at zonal draws that took place in Kano, Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja.
In her response, Mrs Olowo who won N150,000 cash in the third category, praised Almighty God for choosing her to be the among the winners out of thousands of participants.
She commended the bank for the transparent selection process.
