Ajaokuta Constituents Have Made Our Democratic Experience Meaningful and Memorable – Lawal

Member representing Ajaokuta Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Lawal Idirisu has paid glowing tributes to the people of Ajaokuta local government area for their contributions to the sustenance of democracy.

In his Democracy Day message, Lawal urged Ajaokuta electorates to keep the spirit of the day alive and continue to do well as a people and a nation.

The Federal lawmaker appealed to youths not to succumb to whims and caprices of selfish politicians.

“My tributes goes to leaders of our party, men and women, youths, stakeholders and party executives of my constituency who have made our democratic experience meaningful and memorable.

“For the past 19 years we have been in a democratic rule together we demonstrated that the government of the people is an idea cherished by Nigerians. We may have our differences as an individual and politicians but we have shown great faith in democracy and it’s institutions.

“As a good citizens of this great country we have refused to be limited to our differences despite the reservations about some of our institutions. We have refused to submit to despair. This development can be seen as a clear testament of the courage and optimism of the Nigerian people.

“I urge the good people of Ajaokuta Federal constituency not to use this season of the forth coming elections to sow a seed of discord. Our primary aim at this time should be how possible we can do it together to make peace and tranquility in ensuring success is achieve.

“There are challenges, yes, but we are working hard to address those challenges. And by God grace I was able to contribute our quota in advancing the development of constituency in the areas of electricity, water supply, education, roads, health, empowerment and agriculture just to mention a few.

“My best may not be good enough but I promise to continue to work hard to turn the little efforts into a source of motivation for greater achievements. It is when people are happy and confident that they would be in a good position to walk tall in relating with others.

“No matter the political differences we must therefore remain as one family and work together collectively for a better nation,” he said.

Lawal congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Yahaya Bello and all members of the National Assembly on the 18th Democracy Day anniversary in Nigeria.
