Former Kogi governorship candidate, Alhaji Yakubu Murtala Ajaka, has congratulated Major General Waidi Shaibu on his appointment as the Chief of Army Staff of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, describing it as “a moment of national pride and honour for Kogi State.”
Alhaji Yakubu said the appointment reflects Major General Shaibu’s years of disciplined service, leadership, and professionalism, noting that his rise to the pinnacle of the Nigerian Army embodies the spirit of excellence for which Kogi State is known.
“Your elevation is a reflection of dedication and commitment — a moment of pride not only for Kogi State but for the entire nation,” Ajaka stated.
He prayed that Almighty Allah grants the new Army Chief wisdom, courage, and strength to lead effectively and uphold the Army’s core values of loyalty, discipline, and integrity.
Ajaka also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for recognising merit and competence, saying the appointment of a distinguished son of Kogi State to such a strategic national position demonstrates his administration’s inclusiveness and belief in rewarding excellence.
