Aiyegunle-Gbede Descendant Union Swear in New Executives

New executive members for Aiyegunle-Gbede Descendant Union (AGDU) Zango branch has been sworn in.

Under the new era, Lukman Yakub was sworn in as chairman of AGDU, Aliu Yakub vice chairman, Paul Ibiniwa secretary, Abdulrasheed Kola Alimi Assistant  secretary, Haliru Ameen financial secretary, and  Saheed Mukaila treasurers.

Also in the new exco of (AGDU) are, Jamiu Abdulsalam PRO,  Kolawole Gbenga Assistant PRO 1,   Rufai Mustapha Assistant PRO 2, and Abdullahi Danladi Social secretary/Welfare officer.

Others in the new executive are Idris Ibrahim Auditor,  Mohammed Awal Chief whip, Balogun Yakub Assistant liaison officer women wing and Shuaibu Jimoh, Suleiman Moshud, with Yakub Abdulsalam who will all serve as patrons of AGDU zango branch.

Speaking shortly after the new executive was sworn, the Nnew chairman Aiyegunle-Gbede Descendant Union (AGDU) Zango branch, Lukman Yakub outlined his plans for the association.

According to him, the association is ready to cooperate with the host community and move (AGDU) forward.

A guest at the swearing-in event, Prof Suleiman Nasir from the Federal University Lokoja who spoke on the importance of community meetings noted that such gathering will always help towards  nation building and  chat a way forward towards nipping in the bud social vices in the country.

He described lack of commitment to such meeting as some of the reasons why crime is on the hype adding that parents can easily caution their wards when they are going defiant to the laws of the land.

Prof Nasir emphasised that genuine association will help to checkmate such ugly trend in the community.

Another guest, Dr Lanre M’Bashir, also from the Federal University Lokoja while speaking on the role of individuals in the development of their community charged Aiyegunle Gbede descendants to look back to the role their forefathers played which serves as a  template to the outside world.

In their own part, Ahmed Adefatai National secretary (AGDU) and Abdulsalam Udu both advice the Association to be united stressing that their agenda should be channeled towards developing Aiyegunle Gbede which will be on the map of a reckoned community.
