A retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Abdulsalami Iyaji, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across the country, calling for renewed commitment to unity, peace, and mutual respect among Nigerians.

In a statement issued to newsmen, AIG Iyaji (Rtd) described the Eid celebration as a sacred occasion that symbolizes obedience, sacrifice, and compassion, values he urged Nigerians to uphold in their daily lives.

“Eid-el-Kabir reminds us of the importance of faith, sacrifice, and service to humanity. As we celebrate, let us remember the less privileged, promote peaceful coexistence, and remain steadfast in our efforts to build a more united Nigeria,” Iyaji said.

He commended the resilience and spiritual dedication of Muslim communities throughout the country. He also urged citizens, regardless of religion or ethnic background, to use the season as an opportunity to foster dialogue, tolerance, and national integration.

The retired police chief also took the opportunity to call on political and community leaders to lead by example, emphasizing that sustainable peace and development can only be achieved when leaders place national interest above personal ambition.

He concluded his message with prayers for continued peace, security, and prosperity in Nigeria.

“Eid Mubarak to all Muslims. May this celebration bring blessings to our homes and healing to our land,” he said.
