Member representing Ankpa 1 State constituency, Honourable Ahmed Mohammed has commissioned five water projects in his constituency.
The water project embarked upon by Ahmed, the deputy majority leader in the Kogi State House of Assembly, was part of his ‘Operation Water for All’ initiative. He launched the initiative in Ankpa on 1st January, 2018.
The ‘Operation Water for All’ was initiated by Ahmed to end the years of anguish of the people of Ankpa LGA in search of portable water.
The five borehole projects commissioned are located in Angwa Okpakpala/Interlona, Angwa Oforda, Ankpa/Oturkpo Road, Allor-Ankpa and Ejinya Ugbonobi communities in Ankpa district.
His major aim of flagging-off this biggest water project last year was to provide sustainable access to safe, hygienic and sufficient water to meet the cultural, social and economic developmental needs of the people, for all uses, in ways that contribute to enhancing public health, food security, and reduce poverty alleviation. This has increased the number of completed water projects to twelve. Twenty two water projects was flagged-off by the lawmaker.
The Deputy Majority Leader enjoined the residents to use the water projects effectively, preventing wastage and take proper care of the facilities so that they could last long. He called on individuals, private bodies and politicians to come to the aid of communities and provide what they need.
