member representing Ankpa I constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly, Honorable Ahmed Mohammed has called on Kogi State government to declare a state of emergency on erosion menace in Ankpa as the devastation is becoming worrisome.
The September heavy rains has wreaked havoc that had swallowed buildings, roads, mosque, churches and has left several other homes and buildings yet to be affected greatly threatened.
While inspecting the sites, the Deputy Majority Leader called for the an urgent attention from the state government to take up intervention measures to salvage the situation.
“I am calling on the State government to declare a state of emergency on erosion in Ankpa so they can vote money to do this work. We can no longer sleep with both eyes closed when it is raining and the resultant effect is always catastrophic. It needs to be properly channeled,” he said.
