Camera is the only machine that shows the beauty of everything in the world except itself. It captures beautiful and ugly moments but never cares about its own image.

The lens learns different angles of telling another’s story but forgets its own efforts: its ability to adjust its focal lent and capture the best moments, it’s upright position throughout every event, it’s memory Bank that saves the day and always in much demand etc.

Camera is the best when it’s time to work but can only be attended to when it malfunctions. Camera is only remembered when it’s time to tell the story of others. Once the events are over, camera is locked inside the bag and forgotten. When the image is blurry, the camera is buried in the dust of blames but when the image is of advanced quality, the object it captured will be praised and the latter is forgotten.

Unfortunately, in Kogi state, the Camera and the Camera boys share the same fate. They sleep on the same bed of destiny. When the ovation is high, at the peak of the event, the camera boy stands on his toes to avoid missing a shot. During the arrival of the guests, he pauses his breath to capture every movement. During entertainment, when others are eating, he still hangs behind the camera gulping down his own saliva just to impress his Master.

But when the names of beneficiaries of an empowerment program are being penned down, the Camera boy’s name will be missing. When stakeholders meet, the Camera boy will be locked out like his camera. He belongs to the backstage of history. Just like the eye that doesn’t see itself, the Camera boy can never be seen by his own camera.

The most painful part is when the Media Aide will be called to snap his boss with the same person he asked him to attack during the campaign time. The enemy he attacked without reservations will pose with his boss and he will have no option than to snap and post them on Facebook. Before the enemy leaves, the content of his envelope will double the total amount of money he has ever received from his boss. What an irony!

Have you ever seen the picture of a Camera boy celebrating a posh gift from a politician in kogi state? Have you ever seen a camera boy celebrating a juicy appointment? The answer is no! Remember, in kogi state, a camera boy is also known as an Android boy or a Media Aide. A Media Aide lacks everything except a gallery full of pictures.

As a young girl, never you marry a man who calls himself a media aide in kogi state Side-chicks enjoy more freedom and recognition in his sugar Daddy’s home than a media aide enjoy in the house of a politician.

If you’re up to 40 years and still calls yourself a Media Aide in kogi state , your future has already been buried with a roadside casket waiting for the termites to quicken its digestion down the large intestines of the mother earth.
