Adhere to The Spirit of Ramadan, Ahmed Mohammed Appeals to Muslims

The Deputy Majority Leader and member representing Ankpa 1 constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed, has appealed to Muslim faithfuls in the state to adhere to the spirit of Ramadan.

In a message he sent to Muslims at the beginning of the holy month, he urged them to allow the lessons of Ramadan to reflect in their everyday lives.

The lawmaker also advised Muslim faithfuls to discharge all the tasks associated with Ramadan fast faithfully, pointing that the period be deployed to praying for the continued unity of the State.

He noted that the virtues such as piety, kindness, self restraint and continuous prayer are necessary for the progress of the society. He also called on preachers to channel more energy to preaching and educating Muslims during the fasting period, urging them to concentrate on the true teachings of Islam.

“Muslim scholars should instead educate their audience of what is expected of Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan to earn Allah’s blessings,” the statement said.

Lastly, he assured the people of his constituency that he will continue to do its best to improve the lives of the people and equally continue to work to sustain religious harmony for which the state is known.
