The Chairman of Adavi Local Government Council, Hon Salihu Adaviriku has debunked the rumour making the rounds in some quarters that he had perfected plans to disrupt the smooth operation TAO radio FM located in the local government.
The chairman in the a press statement issued last week dissociated himself from the insinuation that he has become antagonistic to the community-based radio, over alleged unfavourable programme against his administration, saying that such incident never existed.
Hon. Adaviriku maintained that he knows the value of media and especially the importance of TAO FM to the people of Kogi Central, stressing that he would not do anything to impede its smooth operation.
He said that even if there is negative information about his administration on the FM he would either draw the attention of the management of the station to it or place a rejoinder.
The chairman, who urged the public to disregard the negative rumour, said that his administration has always respected the media.
Hon. Adaviriku seized the opportunity to reassure all the residents of the local government area of adequate protection.
