Adabenege Adams Commends Gov. Bello as CUSTECH Gets NUC Approval

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has been described as a rare leader with foresight whose love for human capital development through education cannot be swayed by dwindling resources.

This commendation was given yesterday by the Chairman of Kogi State Local Government Civil Service Commission, Comrade Adabenege Adams while reacting to the consistent drive of the Governor for the establishment of the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara.

The establishment of the specialized university yesterday got the positive nod of the National Universities Commission (NUC) when its Executive Secretary, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Rasheed formerly presented a certificate of recognition to Kogi State Government.

According to Comrade Adams, the time for establishment of the science-based Confluence University cannot be further delayed owing to the growing importance of science and technology in human daily lives, stressing that the institution will further catalyze speedy development of the state.

Speaking further, the Local Government Civil Service Commission boss said the technical university also become imperative especially at this point when the revitalization of the age long moribund Ajaokuta Steel Complex is becoming a reality in the present administration.

“Therefore, it only take a focused, result-oriented and selfless leader like Governor Yahaya Bello to embark on this life-changing project like the institution despite the lean resources of the state. The institution will definitely churn out multiple job opportunities for our teeming youths”, he said.

Comrade Adams enjoined the people of the state to deepen their prayers for the Governor and his team of detribalized cabinet for successful completion of the institution which NUC revealed as the 50th state universities in the country.

Meanwhile, NUC has hinted that all other supporting agencies including Tertiary Education Trust FUND, Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have been notified of the establishment of the institution.
