The chairman of the Action Congress of Nigeria in Kogi State, Alhaji Haddy Ametuo, has berated Captain Idris Wada over the overbearing influences on major policy matters by the former governor of the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris.

Ametuo disclosed this while  chatting  with journalists in his office in Lokoja yesterday.

He maintained  that Kogi state  can leap forward in terms of functional development  if the former
governor of the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, desists from interfering in the affairs of the state.

The ACN boss  alleged that the former governor was still calling  the shots, directing the incumbent as regards the day to day running of the state, describing the development as most unfortunate.

He argued  that no meaningful development could be achieved while the former governor continues to run the state from his bed room at Abuja and Lokoja urging Wada to take charge to imprint his name in the sand of history.

Ametuo wondered how the present government can perform when 15 months after it came on board, the issue of settlement of election expenses is yet to be resolved, pointing out that the ugly trend was a serious setback for the state.

He equally lampooned the state government for distributing meager amount of money to victims of last year’s flood disaster in the state, insisting that the government was economical with the truth on the disbursement.

According to him, the payment of N3,000 to flood victims was ridiculous, stressing the need for the PDP led government to do more by assisting them to fully overcome the hardship they experienced as a result of the natural disaster.

In a swift reaction however, the special adviser to governor Idris Wada on media and strategy, Mr. Jacob Edi said it was maliciously presumptuous for the ACN to make such spurious allegations.

He said the party should concerned itself on how to resolve its leadership crisis arising from Tinubu’s godfatherism, rather than running a progressive government down.
