Growing up, the average Nigerian youth is made to believe that he or she is the “leader of tomorrow”. Till date, the Nigerian youth is still being told of how he or she is a future leader; that is of course more of a motivational joke that exists more in strict sense in the world of the mind than an easy reality in a typical Nigerian setting where the old has refused to give way for the young to lead!

The question we are not asking yet is “when exactly is the time of the youths due for them to lead”?

In contributing to this debate, leaders of thought have made it clear that “power is taken, not given”.

Kogi State of year 2019 is ready for yet another youth Governor. Talking of experience, there is actually no school where persons are taught how to be Governors of a State. To be the Executive Governor of a State in Nigeria is by election and not by appointment, so therefore when the youth gets to the “bridge” he will know how to even easily cross it.

In other words, every single Kogite whether one-term Governor or not, but not after having governed the State for an aggregate of two terms, has the right and capacity to govern Kogi State; provided he or she has the right to vote and be voted for, provided he or she has no criminal record, provided he or she is mentally  stable and sound, and provided he or she has the minimum Constitutional academic qualification.

It is on this note that the youths of Kogi State have called on one of their own, in person of Abubakar Ibrahim to aspire.

Abubakar Ibrahim, knowing that he is born a leader and has the necessary sympathy and determination to pilot the affairs of Kogi State aright, has since thrown his hat into the ring to run for the Office of Governor of Kogi State in this year 2019, which is the year of Kogi’s future and not the year of Kogi’s past.

Abubakar Ibrahim popularly known as #AbuIbro has what it takes to govern Kogi State. As a youth, he will govern Kogi State for all the 24 hours in a week of 7 days all through months and years of a given mandate and not blink an eyelid or break down for even a minute or even a second.

He will via a digital mind, trending global practice and existing mentality and practicable reality, govern Kogi State into the future and not back to any past. He will move Kogi State into the future and not move it backwards. All these good and more, Kogites will benefit; if Abubakar Ibrahim becomes Governor of Kogi State.

Even still, every one-term Governor who of course has one more term by Constitutional provision, to still contest for any day, is once new to the art of governing a State. Within first few days in Office, he or she had the discretion to learn or not to learn. So it is generally. Therefore, it is wrong to assume that a one-term Governor will govern better than a new person who is even a youth, still very fresh in the head and mind and is full of strength and vigour.

On this, we the youths of Kogi State knowing that we have the most voter-population in the society across age-grade have taken a stand to support our own fellow youth in person of Abubakar Ibrahim.

We believe in him as one of us in the youth age-grade and we believe he will better our lives as youths and cater well for our aging and aged parents, while as well making it possible that children just coming up will have a bright future as they come of age. He will rise up to our youthful challenges as a youth who personally understands the very many challenges of the youths.

The project to make Abubakar Ibrahim Governor of Kogi State by November this year 2019, is the project of every youth in Kogi State, and by extension that of the old who has a young with a future, and the young and even the very young who by age-class in the society, is individually aware that he or she has a future ahead and is himself or herself a potential future leader too.

Kogi State has by overall mentality, decided to move forward and not backward. With Abubakar Ibrahim, Kogi State will surely move forward only and not backwards at all, in all necessary ramification of governance.
