Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in the 2019 elections, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim has called for enhanced security architecture across Okun land.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Friday, Ibrahim commiserated with the people of Isanlu in Yagba East local government area of the state over the bloody attacks on a bank and the Police Divisional Headquarters on Thursday. The attackers killed eight police officers and residents.
According to the PDP chieftain, the multiple attacks, freely carried out, is an indication of serious security lapses on the part of those charged with the responsibility of protecting lives and properties.
He bemoaned the spate of armed robbery attacks on financial institutions in Okunland, a situation that has led to the shut down of most banks operating in the area. He noted, sadly, that the menace has affected the economy of Okun land badly.
He called for immediate manhunt of the criminals and deployment of more security personnel to Kogi West axis of the state to forestall re-occurence.
He commiserated with the families of the deceased, the Agbana of Isanlu and the people of the community.
Abubakar Ibrahim appealed to the people of the area and the entire Okun land to embrace local vigilante arrangement to complement efforts of the Police and other security agencies.
