C.itp Rock Adeiza Ezekiel is an experienced and highly driven ICT professional with over 15 years of hands-on experience in network administration, systems analysis, academics and strategic ICT leadership.
Born on the 14th of April, 1987, in Igbaja town, in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Nigeria, C.itp Rock Adeiza Ezekiel began his academic journey at Saint James Primary School, Iludun-Oro, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate, FSLC in 1999. He proceeded to Our Lady of School, Anyigba, where he obtained the National Examination Council (NECO) Certificate in 2009.
C.itp Rock obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science in 2014 from Kogi State University, Anyigba, graduating with Second Class Upper Division honours. He completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 2015 at Centrifuge Consulting, Abuja and went further to obtain a Master’s Degree with Distinction in Computer Science from the Federal University Lokoja in 2024.
His Masters (MSc) research focused on the development of FAIR data repositories; an innovative approach to improving academic content management and data accessibility within Nigerian tertiary institutions.
His early professional life is a rich blend of grassroots innovation and enterprise-level execution. Between 2009 and 2014, while still an undergraduate, he served as a local ICT consultant at Kogi State University Anyigba during which he designed and deployed campus wide network infrastructure, led the configuration of routers and wireless links, supervised the setup of multiple computer laboratories and provided internet services to the university for over a year.
His post-graduate career blossomed at Centrifuge Consulting, Abuja, where between 2014 and 2020 he rose through the ranks from a Technical Support Officer during his NYSC year to becoming a System Analyst and Administrative Manager.
At Centrifuge, he played a pivotal role in the implementation of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS), and provided critical field support for Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) across several Federal Ministries, Department and Agencies.
C.itp Rock also worked in collaboration with the Galaxy Backbone Training Centre, Abuja and was seconded to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), where he served as PMO Admin Officer.
On 7th May, 2020, C.itp Rock joined the service of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja as a contract staff, where his impact was immediate. Initially employed as a Program/System Analyst I, his dedication and performance earned him a pensionable appointment as Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science on 27th September, 2021.
On 5th May, 2022, he was appointed Acting Director of the Information Technology and Resource Centre (ITRC), Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja and later confirmed as substantive Director on December 6th, 2022; a position he holds to date with distinction.
In his capacity as Director, C.itp Rock Adeiza Ezekiel oversees the full spectrum of ICT operations at Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja. His leadership spans system administration, deployment of internet services and the management of vital digital platforms such as the Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS) and the Polytechnic’s CBT (Computer-Based Test) examination infrastructure.
Beyond internal operations, he also serve as desk officer for several critical national and institutional digital transformation initiatives including Tertiary Education Trust Fund. (TETFUND), Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Nigerian Education Loan Fund, (NELFUND), the Centre Admin for JAMB UTME CBT Examination; Centre Admin for Huawei and Cisco Academies and the International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) Digital Literacy Program.
The young academics has travelled within and outside Nigeria and most recently was to Organisation Development Institute, Ghana for International Conference for Academic Staff, Researchers and Scholars in Africa.
He has lectured in core areas such as Computer Networking, Wireless Communication, System Troubleshooting, Operating Systems and Routing and Switching for both regular and Part-Time programmes.
To his credit, he has successfully supervised over Fifty (50) students’ projects comprising Forty (40) National Diploma (ND) and Fourteen (14) Higher National Diploma (HND) candidates
He also plays a strategic academic role as the Coordinator of the Networking and Cloud Computing option for Higher National Diploma (HND) students within the Department of Computer Science.
C.itp Rock has so far served in more than Forty (40) standing committees of Kogi State Polytechnic, including Strategic Plan Committee (2025–2030), the 4th Combined Convocation Committee (2024), e-Examination Committee, Inaugural Lecture Committee, Central Admission Committee, and the Academic Calendar Committee, among others.
Nationally, on the 24th August, 2023 he was elected as Assistant General Secretary of the Committee of Directors of ICT of Nigerian Tertiary Institutions (ComDICT-NTI), where he continues to contribute to the digital policy landscape in Nigeria’s higher education sector.
C.itp Rock Adeiza Ezekiel’s research and publication record reflects a deep passion for leveraging technology to address real-world challenges, with works spanning artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, biometrics, data management, and social media analytics. Notably, in 2022, he co-authored a widely accessed study on social media addiction among tertiary students, published on Zenodo (DOI: 10. 5281/zenodo. 7025210).
His scholarly outputs include Analysis of Palmprint Feature Traits for Biometric Security (2024), presented at the Conference of the Society for the Advancement of ICT & Comparative Knowledge; African Food for Deep Learning-Based Food Recognition System Dataset (2023); Towards the Use of Machine Learning-Based Decisions for the Promotion of Inclusive Economy Integration and Equitable Development (2023); Software Complexity Measures of Bubble, Heap and Shell Sorting Algorithms Using Node Representation (2023); and A UML Approach to Designing a FAIR Data Point Repository presented at the Communications and E-Systems for Economic Stability Conference in Bauchi (2023).
He also contributed to the Proceedings of the 37th iSTEAMS Multidisciplinary Cross-Border Conference held at Academic City University College, Accra, Ghana (pp. 157–172) with the paper on machine learning-based decisions for inclusive economic integration (DOI: 10.22624/AIMS/ACCRACROSSBORDER2023P15).
Other works from 2022 include studies on social media addiction in the Department of Computer Science, Kogi State University; designing ergonomic user interfaces in cloud environments; detecting telecoms fraud through phone conversation analysis; and enhancing palmprint recognition systems, demonstrating his commitment to applying innovative technological solutions to pressing societal and institutional needs.
Professionally, C.itp Rock has built a formidable portfolio of certifications. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), a Juniper Certified Internet Associate, and holds five International Computer Driving License (ICDL) certifications in Cybersecurity, Digital Marketing, ICT in Education, Online Collaboration, and Presentation.
He holds Certificate of participation and presentation on Communication and E-Systems for Economic Stability (CeSES 2023), 4th and 5th National Conference for School of Applied Sciences, Kogi State Polytechnic, and Postgraduate Research Workshop, Federal University Lokoja amongst several others.
He is currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at the Federal University Lokoja, where his research focuses on the development of a transformer-based system for the automatic grading of short-answer questions.
C.itp Rock is also pursuing the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification through Koenig Solutions, India, further solidifying his credentials in ICT audit and governance.
Over the years, his contributions have earned him more than 20 awards across various institutions and organizations. Some notable recognitions include the Award of Honor as Best Director of ITRC by the Student Union Government, Kogi State Polytechnic (August 1, 2025); the Outstanding ICT Management Award by NINERELA+ Positive Faith in Action, Kogi State Chapter (September 30, 2024); the Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year by the National Association of Ebira Students, Prince Abubakar Audu University Chapter (2024/2025 academic session); the ICT Leadership Award by the Igala Students Association (July 12, 2025); an Award of Excellence by the National Association of Ebira Students, Kogi State Polytechnic Chapter (September 30, 2024); and an Award of Excellence by the Ihima Students Union (July 12, 2025), among many others.
Throughout his years in public service, C.itp Rock has maintained a spotless record, never receiving a single query. Instead, his dedication and professionalism have consistently earned him commendations from his employers.
Most recently, he was awarded a letter of commendation by the Polytechnic management in recognition of his exemplary performance and high level of commitment as a member of the Central Planning Committee for the institution’s 4th Combined Convocation Ceremony.
He is a registered member of both the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) and the Computer Professionals (Registration Council) of Nigeria (CPN).
He is happily married to Esther Baiwa Daniel-Ezekiel, and together they are blessed with two children: Miracle Anoze Rock and Grace Onize Rock.
