In an era where public trust in political leadership is wavering, one name continues to command admiration and resilience in the hearts of many: Rt. Hon.Leke Abejide, the Yagba-born lawmaker has evolved into a towering figure in Kogi State and across Nigeria’s political space. With a reputation built on grassroots connection, integrity, and political courage, Leke is proving himself to be nothing short of unstoppable.
Abejide’s Political Dynasty!
His political dynamics has been rooted in public service not on the corridors of privilege but in the humble knots and crane of Yagba East, Yagba West and Mopamuro where he cultivated a deep bond with citizens. Over the years, his consistent advocacy is not short of delivering the best representation with results, inclusive governance, and social development which has distinguished him from the political crowd.

One of the beliefs that strengthens his political vision is he have always believed that “leadership is not about titles or positions — it’s about service, about being present for the people when it matters most.” This is what has guided him from the beginning, and this is what continues to drive him today.”
Defying Political Gravity!
Hon. Leke Abejide’s political relationship, that some individuals see as political suicide as inturn earned him political and powerful rebirth through his credibility.
That reflected in the clarion call to merge with APC and to contest for third term. His representation is grassroots-driven, policy-focused, prioritizing empowerment, and infrastructure. The call for him to contest for 3rd term reflects a broad-based appeal that cut across different divides.
The People’s Interest for 3rd Term and 2027 Outlook!
The people of Yagba wants Abejide to return to the House of Rep for 3rd term in 2027.
It is the wish of the people of Yagba Federal Constituency for Hon. Leke Abejide to return to the Federal House of Representatives for third term bid, the decision of the people are based on facts and not fallacies that will cause disarray in our representation.
Review of Abejide’s representation is to say he has not just representated Yagba well, he has led transformation that puts the constituency first through different projects, invest in the future and brings competence, compassion and long term plans to make Yagba better in terms of infrastructure.
The third term agenda is not his own agenda but the people’s agenda which is not made lightly, it is the result of deep reflection from people, consultation with stakeholders across all strata of Yagba, and his burning desire to continue to offer a new kind of leadership that Yagba needs. He is driven by a deep and personal commitment to the people of he represents. He has delivered extensively through various empowerment initiatives and educational programs. I have seen firsthand, both the immense potential and the frustrating stagnation. YAGBA LAND is our pride; rich in culture, history and most importantly, people. To make the people have more, Abejide has to return to the House of Representatives, he ticks the objective leadership boxes, given his outstanding legislative capacity and capabilities that has placed Yagba on a high mantra.
Our choice is based on vibrancy experience, knowledge and independent-mind, anything outside this would be a liability to the nation and the people, who are the live-wire of democracy.
Abejide has the practical understanding of legislature and governance, possessing a well-rounded knowledge of governance, public policy and delivery. His leadership is not only about title, he understands the pulse of the people and building systems that solve problems, thus we are rally behind him to contest for third term. He has offered real solutions and integrity step forward at the highest levels.
His achievements are not lost on the Yagba populace, that is the chief reason why many are rooting for him in order to complete his good works.
Critics and Intrigues!
Although, many campaign against Abejide has surfaced online and offline;not undermining that they have scored him high in performance but they believed that rotation is a factor to consider against good leadership. The question is this: are their political calculations, permutations and prognosis correct?
Many campaign against Abejide has surfaced online and offline, not undermining that they have scored him high in performance but they believed that rotation is a factor to consider against good leadership and responsibile representation. The question is this: are their political calculations, permutations and prognosis correct?
They have forgotten that election is a contest, open to everyone who picked interest and are ready to contest under a political party, rather than focus on whoever they wish to support, they have continued to wheep the horse of rotational arrangement, pointers have shown that they haven’t settled for any candidate, the only thing they settled for is taking Abejide to the cleaners to wash him down. There is nothing they have not cooked up about him and the third term agenda. But the question that keeps hanging. Who is stopping their candidate or candidates?
Critics can rant and rave. We’ve had some of them say he should honour the rotational arrangement and I ask should we pick rotation over representation? While they also fractionalise their songs about rotation, these are just talks and mere talks are not enough to win an election, there is nothing like rotational arrangement when it comes to house of representatives in Yagba. Electorates have always voted based on anticedents not rotation.
As a matter of fact Abejide is not against anyone neither did he stop others from contesting or express intent to contest, so should we now call their intrigues the fear of the unknown?
Equally, they see him as a threat, recall that during the election in 2019 and 2023, he had contenders from different political parties, he is not anticipating to be the only candidate.
An adage says “that the sky is wide enough to accommodate all birds, both the weak and the strong,” while the allusion to ‘no’ is the spirit of jealousy and oppression. Hon. Leke is eligible to contest for third term and he has the will and mandate of the people.
The Focus!
For many positive minded people from Yagba, the future of Yagba beyond 2027 is the focus and with Hon. Leke Joseph Abejide it is achievable.
