Candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the November governorship election in Kogi state, Hon. Leke Abejide, has commiserated with the Mopamuro traditional council on the demise of Elulu of Mopa, Oba Julius Joledo.

In a statement signed by the spokesman of Leke/Omede campaign council, Shola Adebola, on Monday, the governorship candidate said he received the news of Elulu of Mopa’s demise with deep pain and sadness.

Abejide noted that Kogi state will miss the monarch in no small measure.

“No doubt, the sudden death is painful and unexpected, most especially when we needed him most to not only advice, but supervise and make sure there’s a peaceful election in his domain, in the forthcoming Governorship election in the state, being a man of peace.

“We shall miss his counsel and guidance as Royal father, a sage and a man of imposing personality which he was.

“We only pray, for God to grant his family and the town at large, the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable lost,” the statement read.

Making a formal announcement of the monarch’s passage, the executive chairman of Mopamuro local government, Moses Sunday Alumo, described the occurrence as shocking and painful.

Hon Moses Sunday, in a release, described the late king as a cosmopolitan, humane and development oriented royal father that lived and sacrificed so much in serving his people.

“On behalf of the good people of Mopamuro LGA, I express my condolences to the family, The Mopa Traditional Council, Mopamuro Traditional Council, Mopa Welfare Society over the demise of the royal father.

“Kabiesi’s wisdom, candor and ability to resolve knotty issues shall be sorely missed,” Moses said.

The Chairman, while praying for the repose of the soul of the King, enjoined all to remember the reign of HRM Oba Julius Olufunsho Joledo JP as being peaceful and therefore live in peace with all.
