Abagwu Bags LOGMA Best Local Government Chairman Award

All Local Government Chairman Award (LOGMA) has conferred a meritorious award on the executive chairman of Ankpa local government area of Kogi State, Hon. Ibrahim Abagwu, for the distinctive and remarkable record he has achieved in the area of insecurity.

Speaking at the presentation of the award on Thursday, the chairman, Nigerian LOGMA and CEO of Mentors Communications Limited, Chief Bayode Ojo, said that the council chairman was selected following his sterling performance on security in Kogi state and also for being an advocate of justice in the society.

He disclosed that Hon. Abagwu Ibrahim aptly falls into the category of such distinguished personalities, hence, that has birthed the presentation of the prestigious award of the LOGMA to him.

“Indeed LOGMA is proud to attest to Hon. Abagwu Ibrahim’s uniqueness as the active and most performing chairman in the history of the Ankpa local government council. And also, in the entire Federal Republic of Nigeria. 

“We have been following his activities on social media, and at the end, our close examination and review on his personality proved this matchless attestation of his visionary leadership traits,” he said

He, however, stated that the institute will forever have the greatest honor for his unique leadership as an uncommon breed of a public servant, who has the interest of his people very dear to his heart.

Speaking shortly after receiving the award, Hon. Abagwu Ibrahim expressed how highly honored and humbled with the meritorious award.

In his acceptance speech, he said that this award came from a recognized body seeking to bring about a synergy between personality development and bridging the gap between the government and grassroots.

Abagwu, who dedicated the award to Alhaji Yahaya Bello, describing the Governor as the brain behind the merit award. 

He further described the honor as encouragement and a challenge to do more in terms of bringing improved innovation and strategies into leadership and service to the people.

He also stressed that it is high time both the youths and other meaningful Nigerians exhibit positive traits, be trustworthy, diligent, hardworking, and focused to make both lasting and outstanding contributions to the overall growth and development of the nation.

“I am using this medium again to charge the Nigerian youths to be disciplined and also develop their potentials in all ramifications to enable them to identify the myriad of challenges confronting the nation and proffer necessary solutions to them, as the future of any society lies on its young generation.

“Kogi State and Ankpa local government council are blessed with lots of young leaders who are poised to change the political narrative in both the state and country at large.

“I decided to accept this honor because I see it as a way of setting the standard and reminder for myself, not to disappoint my people in Kogi State, Ankpa Local Government Area, and of course the Nigerian youths,” Abagwu said.
