Several attempts have been made to manipulate and fool the general public by misquoting certain groups and connecting some prominent Okun people to the duel between His Excellency, the Governor of Kogi State, Alh Yahaya Bello and the current Senator representing Kogi West, Senator Dino Melaye. This disturbing trend made me  reach out and check with some of these individuals mentioned on whether this disturbing article and claims are true.
There is, without doubt, an attempt by certain individuals to drag these notable individuals and progressive groups from Okunland into the battlefield. Some of the statements credited to them are false and misleading. The ODI is a relatively new Okun Organization and in my opinion, it issued a fairly balanced press statement on the Dino recall process. There was an attempt to ridicule this statement, involve people who are not members, seek the attention and support of observers and other stakeholders by “name-dropping”, twisting the original statement to suit their agenda.
The attempt to link the former Minister of Police Affairs, General David Jemibewon, the former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Bayo Ojo and the former Health Minister, Prof Eyitayo Lambo to these statements should be totally disregarded. Also, the attempt to misquote Okun groups like the ODI is also a loosely stringed one and I would advise the orchestrators to respect the rights and opinions of others and to do proper consultation before making strong decisions or issuing statements on their behalf in the future.
I will save my message for the dueling parties for another day, however I will leave the lyrics for a new song for the Senator and for His Excellency, the Kogi State Governor.
