“Woe Unto You When Your King Is A Baby”
“Dead flies make a perfumer’s oil stink, so a little foolishness is weightier than wisdom and honor. A wise man’s heart directs him toward the right, but the foolish man’s heart directs him toward the left. Even when the fool walks along the road, his sense is lacking and he demonstrates to everyone that he is a fool.
If the ruler’s temper rises against you, do not abandon your position, because composure allays great offenses. There is an evil I have seen under the sun, like an error which goes forth from the ruler folly is set in many exalted places while rich men sit in humble places.
I have seen slaves riding on horses and princes walking like slaves on the land. He who digs a pit may fall into it, and a serpent may bite him who breaks through a wall. He who quarries stones may be hurt by them, and he who splits logs may be endangered by them.
If the axe is dull and he does not sharpen its edge, then he must exert more strength. Wisdom has the advantage of giving success.
If the serpent bites before being charmed, there is no profit for the charmer. Words from the mouth of a wise man are gracious, while the lips of a fool consume him; the beginning of his talking is folly and the end of it is wicked madness. Yet the fool multiplies words. No man knows what will happen, and who can tell him what will come after him? The toil of a fool so wearies him that he does not even know how to go to a city. WOE TO YOU, O LAND, WHOSE KING IS A CHILD AND WHOSE PRINCES FEAST IN THE MORNING.”
Above are not my words but a Biblical words from the book of Ecclesiastics chapter 10. The kind of leaders and princes here is exact example of what we witnessed in Ebira land yesterday. Woe unto us now that our king is a child and our princes are feasting in the morning.
The governor of Kogi state Alhaji Yahaya Bello while addressing his people back home shows his level of arrogance, stupidity, disrespectful and perhaps very blasphemous before the King of Ebiraland who also to me might have a contrary opinion but was silent for peace to reign.
But sir HRM ALH ADO IBRAHIM, I want to let you know in case you have forgotten that even before Bello you are the king, and after Bello you will still remain the king. When a child suddenly no longer fear his elders then he left you with a question; are there still elders in his house? You are the king of Ebiraland therefore, Bello is your subject, if you remained silent in time of war, it is either you are not fits, or you have become like one of them. It appears to me yesterday that you are now the OHINOYI OF BELLO LED ADMINISTRATION AND NOT THE OHINOYI OF EBIRALAND, if not who is Bello standing before you and said, NO ONE you included if not you in particular can call him for a reconciliation talk and you did not rebuked him right there. That is a blasphemous speech against your position as a paramount ruler of Ebira in general. None of your subjects can undermined your position if you are still the same ADO of Ebira we’ve heard so much about in the past.
Mentioning names of the living and the dead especially of those he think are his sworn enemies belittled the governor, his position and his personality, it is indeed a tragedy for our state in this crucial time to remain in the hands of a baby like Bello. You are a baby not by age, achievement or position, but Bello is a baby because of the level of his wisdom and follies.
The chanting claps and beer parlours disgusting laughter from your timid supporters yesterday depicts the likes of personalities you surrounded yourselves with and in extension shows the kind of leader Kogi have gotten, but I tell you today, the land will vomit you. 2019 is too long a time to wait, you are nothing but a Saul and I think the rise of David is just by the corner.
Kogi State University students have wasted a whole semester at home and you don’t care or look like you are bothered. And all you could think of as achievements for over two years are, patched roads, half and half paid/unpaid salaries, dilapidated hospitals, schools buildings, scanty boreholes across the states, round about demolitions and perhaps the most laudable one of all, renovation of Revenue Building. Despite all the Federal government intervention funds, Paris Club refunds and other intervention funds from international organizations, Mr. Governor you are indeed a baby.
You want Ohiare, the late Ohize and Hadi Ametuo to bring back to life all the people they killed by their actions and inactions. Perfect, now, how do you want Ebira populace, Okun and Igala to reconcile with you since you cannot bring back to life all the teachers, civil servants your open-ended screening had killed, those who died for not having money to treat their illnesses while in hospital? Those died of road accidents on their way to screening centres? Those that were robbed of their valuables on their way to Lokoja for screening? Those that lost their loved relations, like daughters, sons, wives, husbands, siblings to ailments that five thousand naira only could have solved? Where do you start your reconciliation from my baby governor? All the lives taken by overnight robbers, kidnappers, etc, created by the hardship caused, courtesy of your actions and inactions; none payment of salaries.
You woke up very early at the beginning of your regime and assembled all kind of artistes, from Korede Bello, to Tuface Idibia, and Darey Art Alade, etc. squandered our hard earned revenues on frivolities. No wonder the most thriving business in Kogi state today, is hotels and prostitution. When your princes feast in the morning.
Thank God your memory still serves well that 2019 is nothing but peoples’ choice. But remember, 2018 is before 2019.
God Bless Ebiraland
God Bless Kogi State
God Bless Federal Republic of Nigeria
