The transition of leadership at the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) is not just a milestone for the academic community, but a momentous occasion for the ancient and noble town of Ekinrin-Adde. It is a rare and historic feat to see two illustrious sons of the same soil—one handing over to the other—at the pinnacle of academic administration.

Ekinrin-Adde is indeed blessed to have produced this duo of excellence. The town’s rich heritage of intellectualism and leadership was on full display as the community rallied behind their own, marking a transition that will be told for generations.

Royal Presence and Community Pride

The significance of this “Ekinrin-Adde to Ekinrin-Adde” handover was underscored by the presence of the town’s highest traditional authorities. The event was graced by:

His Royal Majesty, Olu Anthony Bamigbaye Idowu, the Olu Adde of Ekinrin-Adde, whose presence signified the seal of approval on this transition.

His Royal Majesty Oba Johnson Kolade Otitoju (Egbo Lona 1),The Akinrin of Ekinrin Land, who was ably represented by High Chief Engr. Aribido Shola Samuel, the Alaa of Ekinrin Land.

Accompanying the monarchs were well-meaning sons and daughters of Ekinrin-Adde, all standing in solidarity to witness the torch of leadership pass from Professor Olayemi Durotimi Akinwumi to Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye.

“It is a testament to the quality of upbringing and the value of education held dear in Ekinrin-Adde. We are moving from Glory to Greater Glory.”

Congratulations to the people of Ekinrin-Adde, and heartiest cheers to the Outgoing and Incoming Vice Chancellors of the Federal University Lokoja!
