Hon. Alfa Mommoh Rabiu is a well read and successful sociologist, a quintessential lawmaker, a philanthropist per excellence whose natural adornment is an infectious smile filled with a splendor that knows not either of day and night. By conduct, he is an unassuming young man, very proficient, efficacious, capable politician with great influence and a distinguished personality. His avuncular herald rightly justifies the “Ebije” he is fondly addressed as by his admirers for he derives joy in the building and development of other individuals. Hence, he is unarguably a sentient leader and an orator with great speech suavity cum social epaulettes.
The man of exemplary lifestyle, an adept manager with both political and financial skill cum ever dynamic Honourable Rabiu was appointed as the chairman, house committee on environment. In this position, he is not just reputed but also instrumental to the enactment that strengthened the kogi state ministry of environment and natural resources. The ministry which has so far constituted forest guards, developed a standard data of the available natural resources of the state with a mapped geographical representation of the Kogi state forest reserves as well as the available natural and mineral resources among other mile achievements.
Hon Alfa Mommoh Rabiu can indisputably claim to his credit the recent landmark achievements of the Kogi state ministry of environment and natural resources through his provision of legislative support for the programs and policies of the ministry without any compromise to the general interest of the state’s citizens. He thereafter became chairman, house committee on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Hon Alfa Mommoh Rabiu have individually and in several occasions liaised with his Ankpa 1 constituency counterpart, Hon Ahmed Mohammed to move motions that are of public importance to the good people of Ojoku, Enjema and Ankpa by large extension on the floor of the house. It is interesting to cheap in here that the ongoing rehabilitation of the Ankpa-Emere-Enabo-Ofugo-Abejukolo road came to front burner of the states priority following a motion he moved on the floor of the house calling on government’s attention to the said road.
More so, as can be likened to a hunter who often perform the indigenous sacrifice whenever big games are killed, Hon Rabiu Mommoh Alfa is a pleasing name to many within and outside Ankpa local government area due to his unquestionable integrity, persevering standards, reputable family background and the excellent performance he often display when given assignments as far as it is about serving the people he represents. Perhaps it is in pursuance of this character that he occasionally distributes food items and cash support to his constituents.
He is one of the few politicians that have set an intimidating standard for effective representation of people through his egalitarian ethics. An evident phenomenon of his egalitarianism is the ineffable way he presented his constituency allowance cheque to constituents at a town hall meeting where he opened floor for general suggestions, proposals, fair and free opinions on how the money should be used.
Hon Alfa Mommoh Rabiu is noted for enormous individual personal (resources) and constituency projects as never experienced since the history of Ankpa 2 representation at the Kogi state house of assembly. He at the first and only tranche of constituency allowance so far given to the kogi state sixth assembly evenly carried out his constituency projects across the eight wards of Ankpa 2 constituency based on their individual needs.
The people of Ojoku/Enjema will never forget his developmental initiatives in the area of provision of water through the construction and resuscitation of boreholes, basic health through his routine visitation of the sick which is usually accompanied by offsetting of medical bills, his one for all and all for one attitude to say the least. With these strides, one will wonder very less how he earned the name “Ebije” in addition to his delectable credentials within a short while in a society where excellence and resourcefulness are the pre requisites of honour and distant admiration.
Hon Alfa Mommoh Rabiu is a man of candor, honor par excellence with a life full of experience and valor. Only few people of his age bracket has attained as much as he has done even though he is not concerned about blowing the horns of his achievements and this has made him a not just tested and trusted politician but a strong factor as far as Ankpa, Igala land and Kogi state politics is concerned.
