Happy Democracy Day to our beloved Nigerians, particularly Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Kogi State! Today, we celebrate a system of government that champions inclusivity and equal opportunities for all. As the Executive Secretary of the Kogi State Office for Disability Affairs, I’m honored to acknowledge the progress we’ve made and the work still ahead.
Democracy is built on principles of fairness, justice, and representation. In Kogi State, we’ve seen these principles come to life through the efforts of our esteemed Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo. His leadership has shown a commitment to empowering PWDs, and we’re grateful for his vision. I’m especially thankful for the appointment that has brought me to this role, and I pray for continued divine guidance for our governor as he leads our state towards greater inclusivity.
As we celebrate Democracy Day, we recognize that there’s still much to be done to ensure full participation of PWDs in governance and society. That’s why the Kogi State Office for Disability Affairs remains dedicated to advocating for the rights and needs of our community. We call on all lovers of PWDs in our state to join hands with us in this noble cause. Together, we can build a Kogi where every individual, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to thrive.

Let us continue to pray for our governor and all leaders who champion the cause of inclusivity. May their efforts be rewarded, and may we see a future where Persons with Disabilities are fully integrated into all aspects of society. Thank you, and Happy Democracy Day once again to all Nigerians, especially our PWDs in Kogi State!
Signed:
Hon. Yakubu Nazir Abdulhakeem (Brain Not Leg)
