The candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2019 Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu House of Representative election, Chief Otitoju Oyeyemi, popularly known as Oyela, will be conferred with a distinguished Community Development Service Award at the EACDA Awards Night.
This was made known by the National Publicity Secretary of Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association (EACDA), Mr. Emmanuel Ajibola Ogungbuyi during the week.
Chief Otitoju Oyeyemi known for his dedication to the growth and development of Ekinrin-Adde, has over the years embarked on several community driven initiatives aimed at improving the lives of his people.

According to Mr. Emmanuel Ajibola Ogungbuyi, the award is in recognition of his numerous contributions in the areas of community development and youth empowerment.
Born into the family of Late Chief and Mrs. Otitoju Ikulagba both from Ekinrin-Adde in Ijumu LGA of Kogi State., Hon Oyela is a child of destiny who has excelled in his career through prayer, resilience, and determination.
He started his early Education at KD Primary School, Ekinrin-Adde (Now, Model Primary School) in 1985. He was later transferred to Demonstration Primary School, Kabba where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC).
He proceeded to Community Comprehensive College Ekinrin-Adde where he bagged his Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) in 1999.
He attended Kogi State Polytechnic where he studied Public Administration.
Hon. Oyela began his career as a truck driver, learning the trade during tough times. After his apprenticeship, he worked with Julius Berger, and was transferred from there to Banrutt Rolls where he headed the transport department.
He has trained over 100 successful truck drivers and now runs his own company, (Oyela Truck Company). His dedication in his career earned him the position of being the Vice Chairman of the Association of Truck Owners in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Additionally, he is the CEO of Oyela Hotels. He is involved in hotel management, leasing, and property consultancy.
His passion for community service led him into politics, where he contested for a House of Representatives seat in 2019 under the Social Democratic Party (SDP). Though unsuccessful, he now serves as the SDP Chairman in Ijumu LGA.
As a strong advocate for youth empowerment through sports, he founded Oyela Football Academy in Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu and brought in foreign coach Jason Dodd (former Southampton FC coach) to train the players. He sponsored international passports for 40 players and staff.
Hon. Oyela is a member of the Igharejes as the Chief Oluwole of Ekinrin-Adde.
He is a devout Christian (Apostle in C&S Church), and is happily married to DSC Mary Otitoju, with whom he is blessed with children. His life is a testament to resilience and service to humanity.
