In a powerful demonstration of his vision of prioritizing humanity at all times coupled with deep commitment to grassroots development, Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji, the Asiwaju of Ayere Kingdom and Founder of the Prince Olatunji Olusoji Foundation (PROOF), has once again written his name in the hearts of the people of Ayere Community in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State with the clearance of the community outstanding Electricity bills.
The entire community erupted in jubilation upon receiving the news that Asiwaju had cleared the outstanding electricity bill owed to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC). The total amount—₦2,400,000—had long stood as a barrier between the community and stable electricity.
This bold and selfless act has resulted in the restoration of power supply to Ayere Community, marking the end of a long, dark season for residents whose homes and businesses had suffered tremendously due to the prolonged power outage.
For months, the people of Ayere had been grappling with the harsh realities of life without electricity— businesses were affected, homes and general livelihoods also felt it in untold ways.
The economic implications were devastating, especially for traders, artisans, students, and local entrepreneurs whose productivity depends heavily on stable electricity.
Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji is no stranger to transformative interventions. Through PROOF, his philanthropic endeavors have impacted thousands across Nigeria, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, and community development. From sponsoring indigent students to providing back-to-school materials, financial support initiatives, and now, powering an entire community, his legacy of service continues to expand.
The restoration of electricity is expected to breathe new life into the community’s economy.

Tailors can now power their machines, shop owners can preserve perishable goods, students can study at night, and hospitals and health centers can function more efficiently.
This gesture is a shining example of how visionary leadership and compassion can catalyze change, even in the most forgotten corners. It is also a reminder that when leaders prioritize humanity, our communities, States and nation at large will be a better place.
Ayere is now lit—not just with electricity—but with gratitude to God and their son; Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji.
