In the history of Kogi Central Senatorial zone, no Senator has ever been in the spotlight for the wrong reasons till Thursday, February 20, 2025 when our dear Senator was found exchanging words and threatening the peace of the Nigerian Senate, the National Assembly and consequently, the entire Nigeria as she displayed conducts that are clearly not what we the good people of Kogi Central are proud of.
We, the good people of Kogi Central are filled with regret and shame over the conduct of our Senator at the Senate Chamber.
At a time we are expecting her to finally start bringing developments to Kogi Central, we are rather being made busy with issuing apology all over the place on her behalf and especially on behalf of the Kogi Central Senatorial zone and wondering how exactly she got to the Senate in the first instance, because if indeed, we the Kogi Central voters screened our candidates by behavioural conduct tendencies back in 2023, yesterday’s show of shame at the Senate would definitely not have happened. This, we the good people of Kogi Central Senatorial zone deeply regret.
We, Kogi Central people are very honourable people. So, we are still in shock that we elected somebody to be our Senator and she is in Abuja dragging sitting position rather than dragging developments, infrastructure and federal jobs to our Senatorial zone.
I can go on and on and on expressing shock but a fact is that those who know the Senator long before her emergence in the Senate, seem not to be surprised at all. In fact, if anything, they even commended her ability to not display the level of misconduct she did displayed at the Senate long before yesterday, as the saying goes that true character cannot be hidden for too long. If anything, it is that we need to be conducting character checks on those we send to Abuja to represent us, henceforth.
That said, it is time to commence the recall of our dear Senator. The only thing she has really achieved for us since 2023, as a Senatorial zone is that she got herself suspended and now therefore, in the next Senate sitting, Kogi Central will not have a chance to be a part of the national conversation and that is clearly unacceptable to us as a Senatorial zone much as we understand that discipline is key to the survival of any group or society.
We, Kogi Central people are very serious people. We can’t afford to be missing in the national conversation even for a moment especially at a time like this when there is infrastructural race across the country. Hence, it is just and right, fair and proper and honourable that we immediately commence taking signatures of vote of loss of confidence in our dear Senator, after which we will submit the signatures to INEC to commence a recall process on our dear Senator.
Obviously, she has lost touch with her mandate towards we the people of Kogi Central, so it is best if we recall her and send somebody else to Abuja to represent us at the Senate.
We thank her for her time in the Senate but as a serious people, it is time we get serious and send somebody else who understands the needs of Kogi Central, who will prioritize the needs of Kogi Central, who will not go and be dragging sitting position when he or she should be focused on dragging developments and infrastructures and federal jobs to Kogi Central.
