Police Arrest Suspected Armed Robbers in Kogi, Recovers Locally Made Pistol

Men of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested two suspected armed robbers in Anyigba, Kogi state.

In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Office, Kogi State Command, SP William Ovye Aya, the suspects were intercepted by operatives of the Anyigba Division, while conducting the enforcement of third party insurance along Harbour Bay – Egume road.

Aya said the two suspects, identified as Mohammed Chelim and Oneh Mohammed, both of Olubojo street, exhibited suspicious behavior while riding on a motorcycle.

He explained that upon interrogation, the suspects failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for their movements. A subsequent search led to the recovery of a locally made pistol in their possession.

Commending the Officers for their vigilance and commitment to duty, the Commissioner of Police, CP Miller Dantawaye reassured the people of Kogi State that the Command remains resolute in collaborating with other security agencies to rid the state of criminal elements.

He further urged residents to continue supporting security efforts by providing credible information on criminal activities.
