Today, we want to bring your attention to a crucial matter that has been overlooked for far too long. As we all know, tourism is a vital aspect of any state’s economy, and Kogi state is no exception. However, the tourism infrastructure in this beautiful state has been neglected for far too long, and we believe it’s time for a change.
Recently, we had the opportunity to present our suggestions and recommendations to the Chief Servant of Kogi state on the need to revitalize the tourism infrastructure. We were pleased to see that our voices were heard, and the government has taken significant steps towards this goal. However, there are still some crucial areas that require urgent attention, namely the Kogi Hotel and Confluence Beach Hotel.
The Kogi Hotel, which has been under remodelling and reconstruction since 2013, is a symbol of the state’s hospitality sector. This hotel has the potential to attract tourists from all over the world, but due to its current condition, it’s unable to do so. Therefore, we urge the government to expedite the remodelling and reconstruction process so that the Kogi Hotel can once again become a beacon for tourists.

Similarly, the Confluence Beach Hotel, which is a prime location for tourists due to its stunning views of the confluence of River Niger and River Benue, is in dire need of remodelling and facilities. This hotel has the potential to become a popular destination for both domestic and international tourists, but without proper facilities, it cannot reach its full potential. We believe that by investing in the remodelling and facilities of this hotel, the state can attract a significant number of tourists and generate more revenue.
Moreover, we would like to draw attention to the Commissioner Quarters Mini Recreational Structure, which we believe can play a vital role in employment generation and tourism enhancement in Kogi state. By building this structure, the state can not only provide recreational facilities for tourists but also create job opportunities for the locals. This will not only boost the economy of the state but also contribute to the overall development of the community.
Furthermore, we want to emphasize the importance of investing in tourism infrastructure. As we all know, tourism has a significant impact on a state’s economy. It not only generates revenue but also creates job opportunities, boosts small businesses, and promotes cultural exchange. By revitalizing the tourism sector in Kogi state, not only will the state witness economic growth, but it will also promote the state’s cultural heritage and natural beauty.
In conclusion, we would like to urge the government of Kogi state to prioritize the revamp of the tourism infrastructure. By investing in the Kogi Hotel, Confluence Beach Hotel, and Commissioner Quarters Mini Recreational Structure, the state can reap the benefits of a flourishing tourism sector.
We believe that with the right efforts and initiatives, Kogi state can become a top tourist destination in Nigeria. We hope our message is heard, and the necessary steps are taken to revitalize the tourism infrastructure in Kogi state. Let’s work together to showcase the beauty of our beloved state to the world.
