A group, Young Women of Africa, has commended the governorship candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in the 2023 Kogi elections, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh, for his laudable role in mentoring young talents.

Country Head of Young Women of Africa in Nigeria, Ambassador Asmau Omeiza Idris, gave the commendation when she led a delegation of the group on a visit to Braimoh in Abuja during the week.

Amb. Asmau, a dedicated advocate for women empowerment, expressed the group’s gratitude to Otunba Olayinka Braimoh for his commitment to making the world a better place for all, emphasizing his commitment to women’s empowerment.

Having recently attended the Young Women of Africa’s Conference in Ethiopia, Ambassador Asmau, in recognition of Otunba Olayinka’s mentorship, dedicated her certificate from the conference to him and presented him with an emblem, expressing gratitude for his tireless efforts.

In the same vein, Mrs. Zarah Abubakar, a former Student Union President of Kogi State University, now Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, shared her experiences on the importance of integrity and loyalty in leadership, saying, “in the face of challenges, it is profitable to remain committed to empowering others”.

Otunba Olayinka Braimoh, CEO of Hall 7 Real Estate, in his response, disclosed that, as part of the ongoing efforts to foster economic development, his group has successfully supported businesses and helped to build entrepreneurs in many ways.

“One such beneficiary has grown her business significantly, now generating millions in revenue. Building on this success, we are excited to launch a new initiative aimed at supporting existing businesses within our communities.

“Set to commence in the first quarter of 2025, this programme will provide resources, guidance, and mentorship to entrepreneurs, helping them overcome challenges and achieve long-term success. The team has already started identifying legitimate businesses in various communities, assisting with obtaining necessary licenses, and offering mentorship to enhance operations.

“Creating wealth and stimulating economic growth through enabling entrepreneurs is one of our main goals. We hope to improve our communities by assisting small businesses in our area. Our dedication to strengthening the community and assisting entrepreneurs is mirrored in this initiative. We’re excited to leave a lasting impression and provide chances for development,” he said.

Braimoh emphasized the importance of setting clear goals, objectives, strategies, plans, and actions (GOSPA) in achieving a set target.

“My advice is very simple but very effective. You must be deliberate in your efforts to achieve a task. Narrow down your objectives to measure impact effectively, focus on clear goals, stick to them, and avoid distractions.”

He also emphasized that while individuals may have political alignments, the delegation should remain apolitical as an organization to stay focused on their objectives and avoid being hijacked by political interest.

Otunba Olayinka encouraged young women to continue their valuable work, further emphasizing that societal change and dedication to a cause begin with personal commitment.

He further highlighted the importance of sustainable income and skill development among youths, adding that an empowered youth cannot be bought or misled with funds.

“Empowerment is not about sharing food, but about teaching people how to generate wealth themselves.”
