New Minimum Wage: STETSCOM Chairman Applauds Governor Ododo

Kogi State Chairman of the Science, Technical and Teaching Service Commission (STETSCOM), Comrade Paul Jibrin, has applauded Governor Usman Ododo for rekindling hope in leadership by meeting the yearnings and aspirations of the citizens by his pragmatic approaches.

Comrade Paul Jibrin, while speaking with journalists in Lokoja on Friday, said the implementation of seventy two thousand, five hundred Naira minimum wage for all categories of government workers is restorative and first of its kind in the political history of Kogi state.

According to him, the entire length, breadth and beyond the confluence state is agog will polite noise for being the first governor in the nineteen northern states to set a steering committee and subsequently implemented the salary increment for workers in the state.

He also commended Governor Ododo and his deputy, Elder Joel Oyibo, for the harmonization and increase of the monthly entitlements of state pensioners as well as free health insurance coverage for retirees whose pensions are below fifty thousand naira.

“Kogi Pensioners were once upon a time tagged as ‘death wounds’ and unproductive citizens, and were at the lowest ebb asserted that through your policies and passion for human capacity development, you have changed the toga, and there are now brought back to life and smiling,” Paul said.

On behalf of the entire teaching and non-teaching staff, Paul congratulated the Governor for the conduct of a rancour-free local government council elections and the successful inauguration devoid of wanton killings of innocent citizens, destruction of property and snatching of ballot boxes.

Comrade Paul Jibrin, while rejoicing with the newly sworn-in council chairmen and their councilors, tasked them to emulate the virtues of the governor by initiating viable pro-peoples projects that will entrench grassroots growth and development and reduce untold economic hardship among the locals.
