LG Polls: Isanlu Agog as APC Candidate Intensifies Campaign in Yagba East

Ahead of October 19 council elections in Kogi state, the chairmanship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yagba East local government, Dr. Monday Joshua Dare (Venza), has reassured the people that he will run a transparent and accessible administration.

Speaking at the flag-off of the campaigns at the Open Field in Itedo-Makutu on Monday, Dare Venza promised an open door policy where all with good intentions can key in. He added that the APC has become a household name in Yagba East.

“I wouldn’t have been the candidate without you, my wonderful people. The local government belongs to all,” the chairmanship candidate said.

From the flag-off ceremony, the APC Campaign Council transverse the entire Isanlu kingdom with massive attendance at every community.

The campaigns, which attracted politicians across parties divides in Yagba East, was graced by member representing Yagba federal constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Leke Abejide ably represented by the Deputy Director General, Hon. Samuel Adebola Ghadafi; the Chairman of the Campaign Council, Alhaji Abdulrasak Ijagbemi Ashiru; the Deputy Chairman, Dr. Jubril Ahmadu and the Director General, Hon. Emmanuel Obaro, who is representing Yagba East in the Kogi State House of Assembly.

The Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade and the Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Mukadam Asiwaju Idris Ashiru were on ground to add colour to the campaigns.

Others were a long list of eminent leaders across the ten wards of the Local Government, party Councillorship candidates from the ten wards, state appointees and party members as they thronged the venue in their colours, as early as possible.

The party Chairman, Chief Kehinde Atteh, who welcomed people to the flag off, also reeled out names of Committee Members, who where formally inaugurated by a legal luminary, who administered the oath..

Dr Ayoade called on the people to see the candidate as a uniting factor and ensure that the party comes out of it stronger, while Mukadam Asiru sued for peace and oneness in all ramifications, reminding the people that only God puts people in offices.

The representative of Hon. Leke Abejide, who is also his Chief of Staff, told the people that their principal is neck deep in Dr. Dare Venza’s project and assured all that their journey to APC in the state is just around the corner.

Dr. Jubril Ahmadu, who also addressed the people in Hausa language to satisfy the taste of the Hausa listeners and community, said the days of destroying people to get relevance was gone in politics and asked everyone to take politics as a game with values.

In his submission, the Chairman of the Campaign Council, urged people to see the candidature of Dr. Dare Venza as one ordained by God and asked every party member to align for the good of all.

The team left for ward 7 in Makutu, visited Iddo, Idofin and Ilafin communities in ward 10, as well as Ijowa and Mopo to address the good people of ward 9.

Good will messages were delivered by Hon. Ayowande Pemi, Hon Tajudeen Bako, the Ibo and Ebira communities, while Hon. Tayo Johnson, popularly known as Generator, confirmed the support of the ADC as a party for Dare Venza, nothing that this is the first time such is happening where all persons will rally behind a candidate who also has no opponent.

Friends of the party were encouraged to formalize their membership of the party and make it more merrier by casting their votes for the APC on October 19.

The campaign train will continue on Tuesday as APC takes the campaigns to Oke Oyi axis of the local government covering towns like Ejuku, Ife-Olukotun, Alu, Jege and others from ward one to six to ensure that the entire LGA is covered and interacted with.
