Ayeh Gbede community in Ijumu local government of Kogi state has sent an appeal to government to come to their aid.
The appeal is coming on the heels of a heavy downpour that cut off the road leading to Ayeh Gbede on Monday.
President of Ayeh Gbede Development Union, Comrade Waheed Sikiru made this known in a telephone interview.
Comrade Sikiru said three portions of the road from Okoro Gbede has been washed away as the road is currently impassable.
He noted that the road which has been in a deplorable condition is now worst as farmers are finding it difficult to convey their goods to the market.
The President appealed to the State Government to come to the rescue of the agrarian Community as movement in and out of Ayeh Gbede is now impossible.
He called on the member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Hon. Salman Idris, Senator Sunday Karimi and public spirited individuals to assist Ayeh Gbede Community at this critical time as the devastation is beyond what the Community can handle.
