Officers of the Kogi State Vigilante Service (KSVS), Adavi Command, has apprehended a group of individuals suspected of engaging in motorcycle theft.
The suspects were reportedly caught in possession of stolen motorcycles and other incriminating evidence.
According to a statement signed by an officer attached to the Comptroller General,
S. O. Saka, following their arrest, the Vigilante Service conducted a detailed investigation to ensure the integrity of the case.
He added that after concluding the investigation, the suspects were formally handed over to the Police for further interrogation and prosecution.
“This action highlights the commitment of the Kogi State Vigilante Service to tackling crime and ensuring justice in the region. The collaboration between local security services and conventional security agencies continues to play a crucial role in maintaining public safety.
“Following the operation, community leaders have expressed their gratitude and recognition of the Vigilante Service’s efforts. They acknowledged the recent crucial role the service plays in maintaining safety and order in the community. The swift and decisive action taken by the Vigilante Service has been seen as a significant step towards combating crime and restoring confidence within the state,” he said.
Saka said the Comptroller’s has given clear warning to criminals, reinforcing that Kogi State’s security forces are dedicated to ensuring a safe and secure environment for all residents.
