The Conveners of the annual Kogi Built Environment and Building Materials (BEBM) Exhibition has announced the hosting of the 2024 edition.
This year’s edition will hold in Lokoja from Tuesday 3rd to Friday 6th December, 2024.
According to the press release announcing the event the theme is ‘Local Building Materials: Affordable Strategy for Housing in Nigeria and Path to Economic Rejuvenation’.
The built environment in 21st century is desiring information on new innovations to support and keep those who will be able to compete and stay relevant in the industry.
Veritable information has always been one of the most important benefits for stakeholders who attend this event. A major highlight of the event is the showcase of innovative developments in the Built Environment industry, paper presentations from experts and leading names in the industry.
In addition, stakeholders in the sector would be rewarded for their contribution and support to the industry at the Opening Ceremony.
According to a release by the BEBM Exhibition signed by its Executive Mr. Oladipo Makakese Bayode, the event is usually a hybrid interphase of lectures, marketing, commerce and product exhibitions. About one hundred building products and service-related organizations would be invited to exhibit at the event.
The opening ceremony is scheduled to hold in the Conference Hall of the Idrinana Hotel and Suites by 10am on Tuesday, 3rd August, 2024.
The release also announced the reconstitution of the Advisory Council of the BEBM Exhibition.
The new advisory council membership are; His Royal Majesty, Oba Muyiwa Ibeun, the Elelu of Mopa and Chairman Mopa-Amuro Traditional Council as Chairman; Hon. Idris Salman, Member of the House of Representative representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu; Bldr. Samson Ameh Opaluwa, the Chairman Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria; Arc. Mathew Oseborega Onoba, an Abuja based private built environment practitioner; ESV (Mrs) Bukky Ibrahim, an estate manager and valuation expert in Kogi state civil service.
The list also includes; Alhaji Rahman Nasir Ichanyi, Technical Adviser to the Kogi State Internal Revenue Services; Q/S John Agene, Former Director of Building Services, Kogi State Ministry Housing and Urban Development and Engr (Mrs.) Margaret Ojo, former Director of Civil Engineering, Kogi State Ministry of Work and Housing will serve as members.
A posthumous honourary membership was granted to Late Arc. Gabriel Yakubu Aduku, a former President of the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria from 1994 to 1997.
Prominent construction material giants in Kogi state, Dangote Cement, West African Ceramic Limited, and Mangal Cement are also to be represented in the Council to improve its relationship and engagement with Built Environment professional in the state through this annual gathering.
