The recent national protest that swept through the country saw many youths from various states participating in the demonstrations, and wanton destruction of properties demanding for change and reforms that is already clearly been embarked upon by the present Federal Government of Nigeria.
However, amidst the chaos, killings and unrest, the youth of Kogi State chose to take a different path, a path of wisdom, understanding, and peace.
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the youth of Kogi State for not joining the bandwagon of violence and destruction, but instead, showing maturity, understanding and restraint in their actions.
By shunning the national protest, the Kogi youth have demonstrated their belief and confidence, and in the sincerity of processes and efforts being embarked upon by the Federal and state Government to address the various economic challenges facing the country and the state.
It is refreshing to see that the youth of Kogi State have shown appreciation rather than ingratitude towards the Federal Government’s various efforts at chatting a charitable course for the agelong drifting of the political and economic ship of Nigeria state, particularly the recent speedy implementation of a minimum wage for workers and the three year review regime.
They have also displayed a deep understanding of the complexities of national economic issues and the challenges faced by the Federal Government in addressing them.
While youth in other parts of the country were destroying public facilities and endangering the lives of their people, the youth of Kogi State chose to uphold peace and understanding.
Their very positive commendable actions have not gone unnoticed. They have truly made the people of Kogi State all over the world exceedingly proud.
The youth of Kogi State should be commenced for their resilience, understanding wisdom, and unwavering support for the sincerity they have seen in the body language of the President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu since he assumed office, and the Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, together with the Federal and the state Government.
Their trust and believe in the leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo, and in the future of the country and the state is truly commendable.
I want to sincerely express my gratitude on behalf of every man and woman of Kogi State to the youths of Kogi State for their exemplary behavior and for setting a positive example for youths in other states to follow.
May your actions inspire others to choose peace, understanding, and dialogue in addressing national issues going forward.
Thank you, Kogi State youth for following the path of maturity and wisdom.
